As usual I’ll sneak in a Thursday gig into the weekend highlights. Tonight at de Gudde Wëllen they have

Salon

A monthly listening club, focusing on experimental and ambient music. On the first Thursday of every month, De Gudde Wëllen hosts they’re ‘apéro bruitiste’ from 6 PM till 1 AM. Previous guests have included Luc Van Acker, Mike Blueprint, Michel Flammant, Location Baked and many more.

Tonight they have Luxembourg producer and DJ Obsoletetechnology. With acclaimed releases on gotwax! and ROHS! Records, Obsoletetechnology, real name Steve Bidinger, is one of the most prolific producers in Luxembourg. His releases are drenched in dub techno influence and a distinctive feel for ambient space.

Mark Lotterman

Will also be playing tonight at Liquid as well as tomorrow night at Why Not? in Dudelange. Mark is a singer/songwriter from Rotterdam. His songs all well known for their storytelling lyrics and his performances for their expression and authenticity. His style is often compared with Nick Cave and Tom Waits but I also here some Mark Lanegan coming through in his delivery of his lyrics.

80’s Party

This Saturday at den Atelier you better have your shoulder pads and hairspray at the ready cause the 80’s Party is back. So join the Girls who Just Wanna Have Fun and their male friends to dance off to the finest 80’s tunes played by the one and only HOOTENANNY.

All the artists on the below playlist are playing Luxembourg over December and January.

Little Dragon come to Luxembourg this Saturday

One of the many great bands to come from Sweden over the years. Little Dragon bring their infectious grooves, soaring vocals and subtle synths in their own synthpop/trip hop/R&B or whatever other category Little Dragon fit into, to Den Atelier this Saturday the 6th of December.

Whilst their first album was released back in 2007 it’ wasn’t till the release of ‘Ritual Union’ in 2011 when the world started to take note and even then it just seemed to grow through word of mouth. There was no real breakthrough single as such, just yet another perfectly constructed soulful electro album that started to gain momentum and now with the release of their fourth studio album ‘Nabuma Rubberband’ earlier in the year, they have cemented themselves as a mainstay of great Swedish musical exports.
